Privacy Commitment and Philosophy

Palette Art Online, An Internet Art Gallery opened in April of 2006 and is a secure online store that allows consumers from all over the world to view and purchase the art from selected regional art communities. The Web site allows detailed browsing from a large digital catalog of broad breadth of media and includes full descriptions of the pieces as well as information about the regional art community and the artist.

Collection of Personal Information

In order to purchase select artworks from Palette Online we ask that you provide some personal information and establish an account. This personal information includes your name, email address, phone number, and the billing address for the credit card used to purchase the artworks. Information collected may also include (among other things) your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring Web site addresses. This information is used by Palette Online for the operation of our Web sites and services, to maintain quality of our services, and to provide general statistics regarding use of our Web sites and services. Palette Online may also collect information about your computer hardware and software.

Credit Card information collected during the check out process is used only to verify the sale and is not stored for any period of time longer than necessary to accurately charge the card for the selected artworks being purchased.

Usage and Sharing of Personal Information

Palette Online account information is stored in our proprietary database, and used to enhance your shopping experience. If based on your purchase history Palette believes you may be interested in new artworks available at the store, Palette may send you an email to make you aware of the opportunity. Palette Online will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Palette Online; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Palette Online; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Palette Online, its Web sites and services, or the public.

Usage of Cookies

A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide you a convenience feature that will save you time. For example, if you create an account with Palette Online, a cookie could be used to help the site recall your specific information and/or preferences on subsequent visits. Then, when you access the site in the future, the information previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the Palette Online features you customized on your previous visit. Member Services and Opt-Out Policy

Palette Online provides you with a User Account area of our Web site, where you may correct or update your account information, or 'opt-out' (i.e., remove) yourself from Palette Online. Instructions on how to unsubscribe from Palette Online are also available at the bottom of any email sent to you. If you do wish to delete your account, your active account status and profile information will be removed from our database. Please note that in some cases it may take two to three business days for your information to be completely removed from our records.

If a user elects to use our 'Tell A Friend service to inform a friend or business associate about Palette Online, we ask them to provide their friend's name and email address. Palette Online automatically sends the referral an email inviting them to visit the site. Palette Online stores this contact information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email. The friend may contact Palette Online to request the removal of this information from our database.

Security of Personal Information

Palette Online takes strict measures to ensure every aspect of your information is kept secure, protecting your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment. Access to all personal information is restricted and limited to a few key personnel. Your profile information is highly confidential and will be used only by Palette Online to email you information about our products and services.

Notification of Changes
If there are ever any material changes in our privacy policy practices, you will be notified directly. We will take all possible measures to obtain your consent if the information we collect from you is going to be used in a different manner than stated at the time of registration. Any changes in our privacy statement will be posted 30 days prior to that change.

Business Transfers
As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy additional assets. In such transactions, Palette Online's right to contact its panel members and the information you have voluntarily provided in your user profile would generally be considered one of the transferred business assets. Any sale or transfer of Palette Online or substantially all of its business assets would be to an entity that agreed to comply with all of the material terms of our privacy policy.
